Let Sleeping Pigs Lie
Meet the Maker
Hello! My name is Traci. I enjoy sewing, art, and guinea pigs.
My mother taught me to sew on her old Singer sewing machine when I was young. I enjoyed sewing, and began creating my own designs for doll clothes. Currently, I use my Husqvarna Viking Designer Sapphire sewing and embroidery machine and digitize my own embroidery designs.
The idea of making guinea pig beds popped into my head one day while I was shopping for pet supplies. I wasn’t able to find any piggy beds in the colors or patterns that would match our C&C cage. Our guinea pigs, Miss Ginny and Miss Sakura, enjoyed their little homemade Mat Beds very much. I started creating different styles of guinea pig beds, tunnels, and other fun items.
For over ten years, I have donated guinea pig beds for the Bay Area Pignic, to help raise money for their local guinea pig rescues. Guinea pigs are always near and dear to my heart.
My most popular item sells around the Christmas season: the Santa Cavy Stocking! After all, who doesn’t need a tiny stocking embroidered with a guinea pig wearing a Santa hat?
How it’s Made
Each Puffy Bed is completely handcrafted by me. First, the fabric is washed in unscented detergent and ironed. Next, the cutest and coziest parts of the fabric pattern are selected to be cut and embroidered. The embroidered top pieces and faux sherpa bottom pieces are assembled, sewn, and stuffed. The newly created guinea pig bed is washed again in unscented detergent, dried, and ready to be lounged upon by a new guinea pig friend!
Shop Policies
What is the return and exchange policy?
Satisfaction is important, and I sincerely hope that you and your guinea pig enjoy your item(s). However, if there is a problem with your order, please notify me within the first seven (7) days after receipt. Items may be exchanged at the store's discretion.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Orders are usually shipped the next business day. Once shipped, most domestic orders take anywhere from 2 to 10 business days to arrive depending on the efficiency of your local postal service.
Will my guinea pig chew or eat this type of bed?
Most do not; however, you should always carefully observe your guinea pig when placing anything that is not edible in the cage. If you notice more than a tiny bit of tasting and/or chewing, or if you find holes from chewing in the cover of the bed, please remove the bed from the cage for the safety of your pet.
How should I care for my new guinea pig bed?
Machine wash warm; tumble or line dry. Color-safe bleach may be used. Do NOT use fabric softener or dryer sheets when drying this bed. Batik fabrics do best in cold water.
